Who we are

Rate My Anime is operated by Bhuwan Shrestha, based in Nepal. Contact: bhuwanenoch@gmail.com.

Using the app

You need an account to use Rate My Anime. You must be at least 13 years old. If you are between 13 and 18, we recommend a parent or guardian reads these terms with you, particularly the sections on user content and messaging.

You are responsible for what happens under your account, including keeping your password to yourself. Tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to it.

Your content

Reviews, posts, comments, lists, messages and anything else you create remain yours. By posting them you give us permission to store and display them within the app so it can function — showing your review on an anime page, your post in the feed, your message to its recipient. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

Do not post content that:

• Harasses, threatens, or targets another person.
• Is hateful toward people on the basis of race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, gender, age, or sexual orientation.
• Is sexually explicit, or sexualises minors in any way.
• Infringes someone else’s copyright or trademark.
• Links to pirated streams or downloads. Rate My Anime links only to services that are licensed to show a series.
• Is spam, a scam, or an attempt to manipulate ratings.
• Impersonates another person or account.

Every profile and post has Report and Block available from its menu, and blocked users are managed in Settings. We review reports and may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules. Serious or repeated breaches can mean losing your account without notice.

Reviews and ratings

Reviews should reflect your genuine opinion of something you have actually watched. Do not post reviews on behalf of someone else, accept payment for a review, or use multiple accounts to influence a score.

VIP subscriptions

Rate My Anime is free to use. VIP is an optional auto-renewable subscription, available monthly or yearly, which adds unlimited custom lists, the airing schedule further ahead, and photos and voice notes in chat.

• Payment is charged to your Apple Account or Google Play account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours of the end of the current period.
• You can manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store or Google Play account settings after purchase. We cannot cancel it for you.
• Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their own policies, not by us.
• You can also earn a temporary VIP pass at no cost by watching a rewarded video. This grants the same features for a limited period and is not a subscription.

Prices may change. If they do, the change applies from your next renewal and you will be told before it takes effect.

Anime data

Titles, synopses, cover art, episode counts and airing times come from the AniList API and belong to their respective rights holders. Rate My Anime does not host, stream, or provide access to any anime. Where a series is legally available, we link to the service that is licensed to show it.

Ads

The free tier shows ads. VIP subscribers and users with an active reward pass do not see them. See the Privacy Policy for what advertising involves.

Ending your account

You can delete your account at any time from Profile → Settings → Delete Account, or from the Delete your account page. Deletion is permanent and removes your content as described in the Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we are required to by law.

What we do not promise

The app is provided as it is. We work to keep it available and accurate, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that anime data from AniList will always be complete or current. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer law of the country you live in.

Changes

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows when they last changed, and we will tell you in the app or by email if a change is material. Continuing to use Rate My Anime after a change means you accept the updated terms.
